Kahagolla bus explosion is not a terrorist attack: Army Spokesperson


Addressing a cabinet media briefing that is currently underway, Army Media Spokesperson Brigadier Sumith Atapattu reiterated that the explosion in a bus in Kahagolla was not an act of terror.

The Army Spokesperson notes that seven among the injured are soldiers from the Army and five are from the Air Force while seven are civilians.

He further noted that two of the soldiers are in a critical condition.

A bus caught fire in Kahagolla in Bandarawela, injuring 19 passengers on board.

Police Media Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara said the fire broke out at around 5.30 a.m. today, while the bus was travelling from Bandarawela to Ebarawa.

The victims were admitted to the Diyatalawa Hospital.

The spokesperson added that investigations on the case have already commenced.
